IE9 for windows phone 7 outperforms Safari on iOS4

Well this is still in the works and is a tech preview but the processing power demonstrated here will surely turn some heads. With the news IE9 is heading to WP7 in 2011 from the WP7 keynote at WMC. Microsoft demoed the “work in progress ‘ build of IE9 on Windows Phone 7.

You will see the magic of hardware acceleration in IE9 on Windows Phone 7 which can easily render 50 fish using HTML5, and the animation looks quite fluid while Safari on the iPhone 4 is having a hard time with it.

Dont belive me???

the cloud computing specialist – Azure, get your hands dirty now.

Check out this cool new Azure Academic Pilot (www.azurepilot.com). The site offers plenty of resources including video tutorials, demos, forums and more.

“The goal of this light-weight, free-form program is to get early hands-on access to the Windows Azure Platform and shape the content surrounding this exciting technology for use by selected faculty and students around their research and teaching needs.”

A must-read: Free bar-tab, free food, a chance to win 1-months paid experience at Microsoft Australia.

Can it get any cooler than this? You bet.

Check out this event! A Windows 7 Tweetup just for the Uni crew with a free bar tab? That’s pretty sweet…

The Tweetup is an event where University and TAFE students can come together, demo the latest tech gear going into the Student Share house, learn some cool things to do on your computer, and maybe win a few prizes. There will be some very cool competitions with food and drinks provided by Microsoft (and a chance to win a sweet Xbox if you’re 1337 enough). You can also find out how you can win one months paid work experience with Microsoft Australia!

The event is open to all students who wish to come together and have some food & share a drink.

We had a very successful turnout at our Tweetup in March which took place at the Shelbourne Hotel, featuring some of Australia’s most influential Twitterati, Bloggers, IT journalists and online content creators in Sydney.

The Windows 7 Student Tweetup will be held at Hermann’s Bar, at University of Sydney Cnr City Road & Butlin Avenue, from 7pm on the 4th of May.

The event is free, but registration is required due to limited capacity (200 people). Register your attendance at: http://bit.ly/win7unitwtup

Tweet about the event using the #unitwtup hashtag.

We can’t wait to see you there!
